Karst hydrology specialist Patricia Beddows from Northwestern University and her partner science engineer Edward Mallon are behind the project. Ed invented and constructed a simple water flow sensor using an Arduino that is cheap and easy to use and can be built by almost anybody on his own.
Patricia is setting a huge monitoring network of flow sensors to track environmental changes. Both of them are unbelievable dedicated to their project and since they are not leaving permanently in Mexico we are here to help them anytime they ask and need.
Since 2014 we have been helping in choosing location and placing cave pearls, changing the sensors and memory cards to help collecting data. happy to see the projects is growing and now Ed is working on creating a robust underwater logging platform from a few pre-assembled modules, which can be adapted to a variety of environmental monitoring applications.
